Our Superintendent

Dr. Charlie C. Smith was born in Byron, Georgia to the late Mr. Reuben and Ellie Mason Smith. As a boy his mother would often make the statement that he was a different child; something was peculiar about Charlie. At the age of 25 he committed his life to Christ and served in the capacity of a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Musician at his local church.

In 1985 Pastor Smith received his call into the ministry, and was later led to establish a church in Dublin, Georgia. He received his license as an ordained Minister in 1989; four years later in 1994 he was ordained an Elder. With a clear vision, strong faith, determination and God’s help; he and his first wife, the late Gladys Smith became the founders of Loose and Bound Ministries, Church of God by Faith in March of 1986 building that church on a solid foundation.

Pastor Smith furthered his education, receiving a Bachelor, Masters and Doctrine Degree in Theology from Refreshing Faith Bible College in Woodbine, Georgia. He also received a Counseling Degree in 2011. Pastor Smith is also an entrepreneur where as he is the founder and CEO of Smith Builders and Home Improvement, Inc. since 1985.

His dedication to the Church of God by Faith and ministry was recognized by the leadership of the National Church of God by Faith in December 2014. The council appointed Superintendent of the newly formed Central Georgia District where he oversees ten churches in the Central Georgia area.

His life and ministry is driven by the fact that every soul is precious in the sight of God and him as well. Life is a gift from God. His mission is to reach the lost by any means necessary. With a servants heart his desire is that the people find hope in Jesus receiving His precious gift of salvation.

Pastor Smith is currently married to Lady Zellene Latimore Smith, where she labors by his side continuing to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will listen.
